At Noren Family Law we strongly believe that legal costs should not bear
compromise on the services offered. We are dedicated in providing our
clients with a professional service that is tailored to their own specific
needs and requirements at a cost they can afford.
We aim to ensure that our clients are provided with clear information at the very start regarding costs. Where possible we prefer to offer a fixed fee service as this provides re-assurance. When we initially meet with you, we will discuss the options available and provide details regarding how much the service is that you require and what is likely to be the cost. Given our experience of specialising solely in matrimonial and family matters, we can usually determine what work will be required, how long this will take and how much this will cost.
At Noren Family Law, we recognise how important it is for you to be re-assured
that you instruct the right family law solicitor to support you. To assist
you with making the decision that is right for you, we are happy to have an
initial discussion, that incurs no cost or obligation.
If you decide you would like to arrange an initial appointment, Gemma offers all
new clients an initial appointment for a fixed fee. Further information about our
initial appointments can be found below. We are happy to arrange for appointments
to take place in person at our offices based in the heart of St Albans town centre
or remotely by video if you prefer.
We offer an initial appointment at a fixed cost, to all our new clients. The initial appointment is arranged for a day and time that best suits you and is fixed at a fee of £180.00. All our initial appointments are booked in for an hour. This appointment is confidential and there is no ongoing obligation. All appointments are with our principal solicitor, Gemma Noren. The initial appointment provides you with the opportunity to meet with Gemma and to discuss your matters. General advice is offered together with information as to all the options that are available to you. As far as possible, time, and cost estimates will be given.
If you decide to instruct the firm moving forwards, then we offer a flexible
service which you can best use to meet your own requirements. Sometimes clients
will instruct us to undertake all matters on their behalf, whilst others prefer
to have assistance throughout or from time to time when they need clarification and
guidance. This flexibly can help you to stay in control of your legal costs whilst
receiving legal services. We offer our clients a very competitive hourly rate. The
hourly rate is apportioned depending on how long we spend working with you. Each
month we prefer to send you an invoice for the work that we have undertaken for you.
We find that our clients can better manage and factor in meeting payment for their
legal costs if regular invoices are prepared. If you require assistance with a specific
piece of work or representation, we prefer to take instructions and confirm an agreed
fee for this.
When we are instructed from the very start to undertake all the relevant work required
to carry the matter from sending the divorce application into the court, to applying
for the final order, we can offer a fixed fee service.
The court fee that is payable at the time the divorce petition is submitted to the
court is currently £593.00. This is a separate disbursement that is payable to the court.
If you are responding to a divorce application, then the costs incurred
will be significantly lower than the costs that the petitioner outlays.
The costs are usually minimal in our experience and we will discuss this with you
at the time you meet with us. It is always useful to visit the court website
as there is a page that provides information about "help with court fees"
prior to making any payment for court disbursements.
If our clients are considering issuing their own court proceedings or have been
served with court proceedings, again we prefer to look at the work that is required
for the proceedings and then provide our clients with a detailed breakdown of costs
depending on how long each stage will take and how much work is required.
We can also provide assistance to clients that have reached their own agreements
for matters regarding their finances and/or children. In these circumstances if we
are provided with the details of what has been agreed we can advise on what work will
be required to formalise any agreement, how long it is likely to take and the costs
involved for undertaking this work.
At Noren Family Law, we provide transparency on costs to provide peace of mind.
All services and work undertaken is provided by our principal Solictior Gemma Noren.
As part of our ongoing commitment to you, we have a direct dial mobile number and email address so that you are able to contact us at any time throughout your matter. We strive to make our services affordable, whilst continuing to offer a high quality, professional and personalised service to all our clients.
